Ketchup Rice with Eggs

Omelette Rice is a classic Japanese dish. As someone with a sticky pan, I resorted to cooking ketchup rice with eggs instead.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 eggs
  • Half of one onion
  • Ketchup
  • Butter
  • Proteins such as shrimp, chicken, ham, etc
  • Veggies such as spinach
  • Rice
  • Optional: tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Dice the onion.
  2. Cut any proteins and/or vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a pan, add butter and cook the diced onions.
  5. Add proteins and veggies and cook.
  6. Remove from pan.
  7. Add some vegetable oil into the pan and add the rice.
  8. Add ketchup, and maybe tomato sauce. Mix well.
  9. Add the toppings and mix well.
  10. Remove everything and place into a serving plate.
  11. Add some vegetable oil into the pan and add the beaten eggs.
  12. Cook until done, and serve with rice.
