Mushroom Tofu Pork Over Rice

Simple ingredients make for a great rice topping.


  • Shimeji mushroom (or any kind of mushroom)
  • Firm tofu
  • Ground pork
  • Garlic, minced
  • Soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce or XO sauce
  • Water
  • Optional: cornstarch to thicken sauce


  1. Cut tofu into cubes.
  2. Trim the ends off of the shimeji mushroom or cut button mushroom into smaller pieces.
  3. Warm pan, add oil, cook garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add in ground pork and cook.
  5. Add in shimeji and cook.
  6. Add in tofu.
  7. Add in all the spices (to taste) and some water. Let it simmer.
  8. Optional: add in cornstarch.
